Red Singularity 4 is part paining, part sculpture and part serendipity. The paint that flowed over the sides of the canvas when I was creating my large abstract "Red Velocity" formed puddles. I used these flexible skins to create elegant 3D pieces which I call "Singularities."
About Madeleine Arnett
My technique of pouring and mixing paint directly on a canvas is a way of connecting with the essence of fluidity. My work is part artistic vision and part serendipity, a fusion of forethought and randomness. I carefully capture any paint or resin which has overflowed and pooled beneath my boards and canvas and upcycle them into new 3D sculptural paintings.
