"Chalice" is a painting from my Singularity Series; I carefully gather the paint that drips over the edges of my Fluid Color Abstract paintings. Usually I sculpt the paint puddles into 3D compositions but this time I mounted the puddle as I found it as it had it's own interesting composition. "Chalice" is the paint that flowed from my abstract painting " Encounter".
My technique of pouring and mixing paint directly on a canvas is a way of connecting with the essence of fluidity. My work is part artistic vision and part serendipity, a fusion of forethought and randomness. I carefully capture any paint or resin which has overflowed and pooled beneath my boards and canvas and upcycle them into new 3D sculptural paintings.
