"Elemental 1" is part of my Metallic Fluid Abstract Series; metallic paints have been added to my usual palette. The iridescent golds, bronze and copper paint make for a shiny and glossy dramatic elemental form on a canvas with a matte "plaster wall" finish.
About Madeleine Arnett
My technique of pouring and mixing paint directly on a canvas is a way of connecting with the essence of fluidity. My work is part artistic vision and part serendipity, a fusion of forethought and randomness. I carefully capture any paint or resin which has overflowed and pooled beneath my boards and canvas and upcycle them into new 3D sculptural paintings.
