Singularity 2 is part of my "Outtakes Series"; I collect the dried paint that drips from my poured abstract paintings and form them into three dimensional soft acrylic sculptures which I mount and frame. They are sculptures entirely formed from acrylic paints and mediums. Singularity 2 was formed from a single puddle of paint.
My technique of pouring and mixing paint directly on a canvas is a way of connecting with the essence of fluidity. My work is part artistic vision and part serendipity, a fusion of forethought and randomness. I carefully capture any paint or resin which has overflowed and pooled beneath my boards and canvas and upcycle them into new 3D sculptural paintings.
