Artist's Description

This is the first in the Hit the Wall Art Series of portraits. The canvas was prepared to look like a brick wall using acrylic gels and the painting finished quickly, graffiti style. The brick texture and color give the portrait a gritty and edgy look.

About Madeleine Arnett

Madeleine Arnett

My technique of pouring and mixing paint directly on a canvas is a way of connecting with the essence of fluidity. My work is part artistic vision and part serendipity, a fusion of forethought and randomness. I carefully capture any paint or resin which has overflowed and pooled beneath my boards and canvas and upcycle them into new 3D sculptural paintings.
